About the position
The Grounds Person at Moxy South Beach is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel grounds and public areas, ensuring adherence to guest service and sustainability standards. This role involves manual labor, including plant care, debris removal, and general upkeep of the property to enhance guest satisfaction and safety.
Responsibilities
- Manually water all plants and flowers located on hotel grounds.
- Weed, mulch, and trim trees as necessary using gardening tools.
- Clean hotel grounds and remove litter and trash daily.
- Maintain the upkeep of property buildings and grounds, including trash bins and the hotel's trash room.
- Care for, maintain, and inventory all grounds keeping supplies, ensuring they are safe and in good working condition.
- Clean and remove debris and trash from the canal adjacent to the hotel's restaurant.
- Sweep or blow all hotel roadside entrances, walkways, and back areas.
- Perform daily walk-throughs of hotel grounds to identify and address immediate grounds keeping needs.
- Monitor work areas for safety and sanitation.
- Maintain a clean and presentable pool area, organizing pool chairs and clearing trash and debris.
- Follow sustainability guidelines related to HHM's EarthView program.
- Practice safe work habits and comply with MSDS and OSHA standards.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Requirements
- High School diploma and Trade school course work in related fields preferred.
- Previous engineer/maintenance experience or equivalent training required.
