The Groundperson plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe environment for all workers on site, ensuring that they remain out of the path of travel. Additionally, the Groundperson is tasked with the upkeep of equipment and materials, ensuring they are in good working order and ready for use. As a Groundperson, you will operate a chainsaw to cut brush, logs, and stumps from larger trees, and you will be responsible for dragging, gathering, and feeding this material into the wood chipper. This position is entry-level, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in the utility industry. While no prior experience is required, previous experience in a similar role is considered a plus. The role requires a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and/or MVR check. Responsibilities
- Operate chainsaw to cut brush, logs, and stumps of larger trees.
- Drag, gather, and feed brush into wood chipper.
- Service vehicles and equipment, maintaining them in neat, clean, and specified mechanical order.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years-of-age or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
