About the position

The position assists the Grocery Manager and the Grocery Third Person in the operation of the Grocery Department. Responsibilities include supervising and training personnel, ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising. The role also involves directing and controlling the operation of the entire store in the absence of the Store Director, Grocery Manager, and Third Person.

Responsibilities

• Champions Company and Division customer service programs to meet or exceed Division customer service goals.
• Handles customer relations in a positive manner, including effective resolution of customer complaints.
• Promotes Albertson's philosophy of personalized service.
• Performs ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, rotating, and merchandising duties.
• Assists the Grocery Manager and the Grocery Third Person in planning, organizing, and directing day-to-day operations of the Grocery Department.
• Assists in implementing Company and Division merchandising policies and/or Store Director instructions.
• Controls shrink and prevents the sale of out of code product.
• Ensures compliance with Company sanitation, safety, security, and other policies.
• Initiates corrective action as needed.
• Opens and closes the store.
• May act as back up cashier.
• Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
• Responsible for performing all job duties with accuracy, honesty, and integrity.
• Other necessary and required duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• May utilize cleaning supplies and chemicals and safety cutters.
