About the position

The GE Vernova Onshore Wind Grid Applications & Integration Technical Leader is a senior engineering role focused on providing grid applications support for customer proposals and orders. This position leads grid integration activities, including electrical simulation modeling and grid advocacy, while collaborating with various stakeholders such as customers, grid authorities, and internal teams. The role emphasizes engineering excellence, technical due diligence, and innovative solutions to differentiate GE's offerings in the renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor other senior and junior engineers in grid applications and interfaces.
  • Determine control settings for GE's WindCONTROL plant controller for wind farm projects.
  • Identify requirements for coordinating voltage control with other power plants in the region.
  • Help customers understand necessary features and settings for grid code compliance.
  • Adapt and provide power system load flow and PSCAD electrical dynamic models for customer and utility grid studies.
  • Develop strategies to respond to the latest grid integration requirements and standards.
  • Support customers and Sales in addressing grid concerns for wind farm proposals and orders.
  • Generate internal and external technical papers on GE wind turbines' grid compatibility and performance.
  • Develop and optimize Grid team's standard work packages and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Renewable Energy or related industries.
  • Knowledge of inverter-based resources grid interconnection requirements and major grid codes and standards.
  • Experience in the renewable energy industry, particularly with wind turbine electrical systems.
  • Experience in controls or component-level power conversion equipment.
  • Experience applying grid code requirements for power plants or wind farms.
  • Experience in power system and grid stability studies using PSS/E®, PSLF®, TSAT, and PSCAD®.
