About the position
The position involves greeting patients, family members, and visitors at Ochsner Health, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. The role requires adherence to detailed instructions, policies, and procedures while assisting patients and directing them to appropriate departments. The individual will work closely with medical personnel and volunteers to maintain a smooth operation at the entrance, contributing to the overall patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Greets patients/visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Assists patients in/out of vehicle in a safe manner.
- Directs patients/visitors to the appropriate departments and accurately answers patients' questions.
- Works harmoniously with volunteers and medical personnel to ensure a steady supply of wheelchairs at front doors throughout the day.
- Maintains assigned entrances in a clean and orderly manner.
- Participates in activities for personnel development and required training.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and communication style.
- Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements.
