About The Position

Local Eclectic is a Chicago-based fine jewelry company building a portfolio of distinct, design-led brands. Since 2013, we have grown from a curated jewelry destination into a multi-brand jewelry house with five proprietary brands with national wholesale partnerships. This summer, we are opening our first flagship retail and cafe experience at 212 E. Ontario in downtown Chicago. We are seeking a talented and versatile Graphic Designer for a 12-week contract to join our marketing team. The ideal candidate will maintain our brand identity across all platforms, producing high-quality visual assets for primarily digital channels. This role requires someone who can step in immediately, has excellent communication skills, and can manage multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • An engaging portfolio that showcases experience in digital design, specifically in email marketing
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and daily deadlines
  • Data-driven mindset with a solid understanding of digital design KPIs, such as click-through rates, conversion rates, and engagement metrics
  • Solid understanding of print design and production setup, including file preparation for various print processes (e.g., packaging, signage, collateral); familiarity with print materials, finishes, and specs is a plus
  • Excellent communication and project management skills and a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Brand Stewardship: Ensure all visual materials (digital/print) align with existing company brand guidelines, while also staying current on design trends and adhering to design best-practices
  • Marketing Assets: Create engaging emails, site banners, and paid advertising to support weekly and seasonal promotions, launches, and campaigns
  • Print Design: Occasional support for the Operations and Store teams to produce collateral including postcards, signage, and packaging, managing final layouts for print
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing and Leadership team to turn design briefs into polished final designs
  • Content Management: Support with daily content updates
  • Project Management: Manage projects from end to end, ensuring deadlines are met, while maintaining organized files
