About the position

We are seeking a Graphic Designer to join our team! The role involves preparing electronic artwork utilizing the CS6 Creative Suite (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator & Acrobat), Quark XPress, and other software as needed. The designer will create visually appealing and effective designs for print, collaborate with customers to create and obtain preproduction proofs for approval, and work with production and vendors to ensure graphic layouts will print accordingly. Additionally, the designer will assist in the basic care and maintenance of equipment, electronically import copy from Microsoft Word into InDesign, and review typed copy closely. The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with customers and team members, as well as strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality output while working in a self-directed setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare electronic artwork utilizing the CS6 Creative Suite (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator & Acrobat), Quark XPress, and other software as needed.
  • Create visually appealing and effective designs for print.
  • Collaborate with customers to create and obtain preproduction proofs for approval.
  • Collaborate with production and vendors to ensure graphic layouts will print accordingly.
  • Assist in the basic care and maintenance of equipment.
  • Electronically import copy from Microsoft Word into InDesign and closely review typed copy.
  • Offer input to Sales/Customer Care on customer artwork regarding layout, type styles, size, etc.
  • Collaborate with in-house and external printers to prepare pre-press artwork and obtain proofs.
  • Assist MarCom Art Director & Manager to oversee the quality of printed materials.
  • Art direct projects with outside designers and request quotes from vendors.

Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or GED.
  • Graphics training/courses and demonstrated proficiency in design.
  • Highly skilled in the CS6 Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator & Acrobat), Quark XPress, and basic knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, instruction, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in Pantone color system and CMYK separations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with customers and team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality output while working in a self-directed setting.
  • Experience in the graphics flow to include pre-press and production outputs.
  • Minimum of three years related experience.
