Intern, Graphic Design
About The Position
The Hatcher Group is seeking an intern to join their Design team for the summer of 2026. This program is designed to offer college students and recent graduates hands-on experience in an agency setting. The intern will utilize their creative and technical abilities to produce materials for firm initiatives, digital media, and branding projects. The team is looking for individuals eager to learn and improve their design skills to consistently produce high-quality work. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and a strong interest in supporting Hatcher's work with nonprofits, foundations, government agencies, and other mission-driven organizations. Interns should be organized, self-motivated, capable of multitasking, and work well in a team environment. This position is open to recent college graduates and students graduating in winter 2026. Hatcher promotes a "flexible first" work culture. The preferred location is within commuting distance of their Bethesda headquarters for in-person collaboration.
Requirements
- Compelling design portfolio (be sure to include with your application)
- Proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Canva
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to take direction, work efficiently as part of a team, and adhere to tight deadlines
Nice To Haves
- Experience with WordPress or other web platforms and coding languages
- Experience with After Effects, Premiere Pro, Procreate, Affinity, and other design programs
Responsibilities
- Design brochures, flyers, logos, and branding assets, digital and print advertisements, infographics, presentations, business development proposal covers, illustrations, social media graphics, and more
- Contribute to creative brainstorming sessions for new projects and campaigns
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Create quality deliverables in collaboration with the design team and under the guidance of Hatcher’s art directors
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with the team
Benefits
