Ulteig is seeking an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with a focus on Civil/Structural Engineering to work on transportation-related projects, including bridge/structural design, load rating, and/or inspections. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
  • EIT or ability to attain within 6 months preferred.
  • Knowledge of AASHTO, AISC, and ACI codes preferred.
  • Experience on DOT projects preferred.
  • Experience using MathCAD, RISA, or equivalent, foundation design programs, and/or other structural modeling software preferred.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is preferred.
  • Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Work on bridge/structural projects.
  • Perform field investigations and NBIS bridge inspections.
  • Prepare structural design calculations and perform load ratings based on as-built plans and field observations.
  • Assist with the development of design drawings.
  • Prepare quantities and cost estimates.
  • Assist with providing practical rehabilitation recommendations based on observed conditions.
  • Work closely with engineering technicians and experienced engineers.
  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Participate in community and professional development activities.
  • Travel approximately one week per month.
