About the position

The Sport and Recreation Leadership master's degree program invites applications for a 20 hour/week graduate assistantship working with Tony Britt Spotter Charts, LLC. This is a unique experience where students will work with Tony Britt Spotter Charts, LLC to gain professional experience in sports information and management and attend classes at James Madison University. Tony Britt Spotter Charts, LLC is a sports information and technology venture headquartered in Harrisonburg, VA. The company provides cheat sheets called 'spotter charts' to TV, Radio and Internet broadcasters, ESPN & FOX Sports, 13 NFL teams & 20+ College Football teams. Graduate assistantships include enrollment in the Sport and Recreation graduate program (Sport & Recreation concentration, preferred) and involve 20 hours of work per week at Tony Britt Spotter Charts, LLC during the academic school year. The position includes a stipend and a tuition waiver.

Responsibilities

  • Data gathering, entry, verification and proofing
  • Spotter chart production, file management and delivery
  • Regular communication with clients and team members through email and phone
  • On-line guidance by supervision, scheduling and work-flow management

Requirements

  • Must be accepted into the Sport and Recreation Leadership graduate program (Sport & Recreation concentration, preferred) at James Madison University
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Passion for sports, attention to detail and spreadsheet skills useful
