About The Position
Park Meadows Elementary School is seeking a Grade 1 teacher to join their team at the beginning of the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong foundation in student support and hold an unwavering belief that every child is a capable learner. The school serves approximately 300 students and embraces inclusion, with a strong connection to the community. Children are valued for their diversity and feel empowered to grow as leaders and learners. Park Meadows places literacy and numeracy as priorities, as well as inquiry-based learning. Lethbridge School Division offers high-quality learning experiences over a broad range of programs to meet the needs of learners. The Division employs more than 1,200 staff and assists in serving the educational needs of over 12,000 students within 24 schools in the city of Lethbridge.
Requirements
- Possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
- Provide a police information check, including Vulnerable Sector Check, with no charges or convictions.
- Provide a satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
- Provide proof of photo identification (e.g., valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card, valid passport, or Nexus card).
- Provide documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name.

- Previous experience with English as an Additional Language learners in an inclusive learning classroom setting.
