About the position

The Audit Consultant position at CohnReznick is a remote role within the GovCon Advisory team, focusing on providing audit, consulting, and accounting services to government contractors. The role emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and professional development, with opportunities to build strong client relationships and contribute to the firm's mission of creating value and trust. Candidates will engage in various audit procedures, project management, and personal development activities, all while working in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform audit procedures in accordance with firm standards and GAGAS in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner.
  • Manage pre-engagement planning, execution, and final deliverables for audit projects.
  • Monitor project status against the work plan and communicate schedule adjustments to managers and/or partners.
  • Develop customized DCAA audit programs to conduct efficient audits.
  • Prepare informative, indexed, and cross-referenced work papers that are easily understood.
  • Provide consulting services to government contractors, including accounting and consulting projects.
  • Accept responsibility for and complete tasks assigned by management in a timely manner.
  • Manage multiple client projects simultaneously and alert management of any issues or scheduling conflicts.
  • Promote teamwork and cooperation within the office and foster effective relationships with contractor representatives and government officials.
  • Continually develop technical skills and industry knowledge, demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Accounting; has obtained or is actively sitting for the CPA exam and meets the necessary requirements to license immediately upon completion of the CPA exam.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in public accounting or other relevant experience.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including knowledge in GAGAS.
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong research skills and solid understanding of FAR & Indirect Rates, with an emerging understanding of CAS and DFARS business systems.
  • Proven technical skills with MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook; audit software, and Caseware / CCH Engagement Manager experience a plus.
  • Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.
