About the position
The Tennis Pro Shop Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to guests at the tennis shop and courts. This role involves greeting customers, assisting with merchandise selection, handling monetary transactions, and booking court reservations. The attendant must maintain a clean and organized shop, assist with merchandising and inventory, and perform groundskeeping duties such as brushing and lining the courts. The position requires a friendly and enthusiastic demeanor, as well as a commitment to delivering a high-quality guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet and provide customers with court conditions and pertinent information.
- Make reservations and assign players to courts.
- Process retail and court rental sales using POS.
- Coordinate with the Head Professional for smooth operation and traffic flow on the courts.
- Ensure the Pro Shop and equipment are clean and in working order daily.
- Organize displays and storage for back-up stock, and oversee Pro Shop cleaning.
- Open and close the Pro Shop according to established procedures.
- Assist in coordinating services for tournaments and special activities.
- Communicate and enforce court rules, including dress code and beverage policies.
- Perform light custodial operations as needed.
- Brush and line the courts.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Professional.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the game of tennis.
- Valid driver's license.
- Professional appearance as outlined in the Audubon Handbook.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice-to-haves
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience in customer service roles.
