About the position

The position is responsible for the operations at the front desk and snack bar of the Ballwin Golf Course & Events Center. This includes managing financial transactions using cash registers, computer registers, and credit card machines, as well as balancing register drawers and closing procedures. The role also involves assisting the public with program registrations, resident ID card sales, facility usage inquiries, and issuing equipment. The employee will be expected to provide efficient and courteous service to the general public, answer telephone calls, and enforce building policies and departmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register, computer register, and credit card machine
• Perform closing register procedures efficiently
• Work with the general public in a courteous and professional manner
• Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Disseminate information about programs, special events, facility memberships, admission rates, and policies
• Answer telephone calls professionally and relay to appropriate personnel
• Enforce building policies and departmental/City rules and regulations
• Act as Golf Cart Attendant
• Enforce golf course rules
• Monitor golf course and pace of play

Requirements

• Previous cash handling skills
• Knowledge of general cashier practices and procedures
• Ability to work with the general public in a professional manner
• Ability to work independently and efficiently without supervision
• Maintain a positive self-image for the City and the department
• Ability to work with frequent interruptions and during high volume periods
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
• Ability to operate a golf cart
