About the position

The Valet position involves welcoming guests and members to the establishment, providing assistance with parking and retrieving their vehicles, and offering information about check-in procedures. Valets are the first and last point of contact for guests and members, and they are expected to promote the Sea Island legacy of warm, genuine hospitality. This role requires compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures, ensuring excellent customer service while efficiently parking guest vehicles in designated locations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests, members, shuttles, and transportation vehicles at the entrance.
  • Assist guests and members with articles in the vicinity of the entrance.
  • Offer to park vehicles for all guests and members arriving at the entrance of the hotel.
  • Park and retrieve vehicles for guests and members in a prompt, yet safe manner.
  • Return to the valet station as quickly as possible, ensuring that guests and members will not have to wait for service.
  • Follow operating procedures for tagging keys and securing vehicles.
  • Assist the doorperson when not parking cars.
  • Assist in policing the area for trash and keeping the front area clean and presentable.
  • Promote all hotel functions and facilities.
  • Provide directions and information to guests.
  • Follow all instructions pertaining to the Bell Service operation assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Learn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and Members.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one's ability.
  • Complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues and follow-up on issues as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
  • Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing.
  • Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately.
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
  • Execute other duties as delegated by leadership.

Requirements

  • One (1) year previous hotel valet experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older to drive a company vehicle and pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review.
  • Must possess or obtain Defensive Driving certification within a three (3)-month period from hire date as a condition of continued employment.
  • Ability to drive a manual/standard transmission vehicle.
  • Must be able to drive vehicles of all sizes.
  • Knowledge of the local area preferred.
  • Ability to react quickly to traffic patterns and guest flow.

  • Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in compliance with company Dress Code Policy.
