About the position

The GO Club Site Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the GO Club program, ensuring the safety and development of children in a supportive environment. This role involves working closely with staff, children, parents, and school administration to implement the YMCA's mission and vision effectively. The coordinator will supervise staff, plan activities, and maintain compliance with program standards, all while fostering an inclusive atmosphere for all participants.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and schedules staff to ensure adequate supervision of children and effective implementation of scheduled activities.
  • Maintains compliance with written activity schedules, menus, fire drill schedules, incident/accident reports, and other forms of communication.
  • Plans and implements a curriculum of developmentally appropriate activities in conjunction with staff and supervisors.
  • Schedules and/or attends regular meetings with staff, supervisors, and colleagues.
  • Implements daily diversity and inclusion practices to ensure all students and adults feel safe and welcome.
  • Demonstrates professional ethics through fair implementation of YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Ensures efficient implementation of planned activities and models appropriate behaviors for staff under supervision.
  • Maintains current knowledge of YMCA programs, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Positive role model with strong leadership, conflict resolution, and diplomacy skills
  • At least 1 year working and/or volunteering with children
  • Desire to work with children on a daily basis
  • Current CPR/First Aid/O2 certification (will provide upon employment)

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual - English/Spanish
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Associate's degree, Teacher Certification or higher
  • 6 months experience with program development and implementation
  • One or more years of college in a related field (i.e. recreation, child development, psychology, etc.)
