About the position

Join OTG as a General Manager of Inventory Planning & Management at EWR Airport and drive a new type of hospitality. The General Manager is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of all Ordering, Inventory Management, and Product Logistics in the assigned airport. This role includes managing the purchasing/inventory/logistics team and using analytics to evaluate effectiveness by measuring inventory levels, reducing waste, and overall reduction in COGs. Tactical emphasis is on accurate daily/weekly ordering, inventory management, workforce planning, coaching, and training. Performance metrics include ordering accuracy, inventory accuracy, staffing utilization, and financial performance. A commitment to excellence is demonstrated through continuous staff development programs enhancing employee engagement, service, knowledge, skills, and morale.

Responsibilities

  • Directs all policy, procedure, and operational aspects of the Warehouse
  • Ensures timely and cost-efficient delivery of inventory and finished goods
  • Utilizes systems to monitor and track inventory through the distribution chain and identify and resolve issues
  • Manages inventory control, shipping and receiving, warehouse operations and maintenance of fleet, equipment, and facilities
  • Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function
  • Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure
  • Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 8+ Years of experience in Distribution or Supply Chain related roles
  • 5+ Years in a senior management position
  • Must have significant knowledge of Distribution, Transportation, and overall Supply Chain
  • Capable of taking initiative, ownership, and accountability for the business
  • Ability to react quickly with a strong sense of urgency
  • Management, training, and development experience is required
  • Must have strong computer skills - proficiency with Excel is required
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and organized
  • Must have effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Hands-on approach to tackling tactical as well as strategic work
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment in which cross-functional teamwork and initiative is a must
  • Must be able to work varied hours/days, nights, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather conditions
