About the position
The Cook/Prep Cook role at Streets of New York involves preparing food items according to established recipes and standards. The position requires maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen and prep areas, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment for guests. Additionally, the cook will assist management in controlling food waste and usage, and may be required to perform some heavy lifting, including moving 50-lb bags of flour and boxes of various sizes containing meats, cheeses, and vegetables.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all items are prepared to Streets of New York recipes and standards.
- Keep kitchen and prep areas in clean and sanitary condition.
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment for guests.
- Assist management in controlling food waste and usage.
- Perform heavy lifting, such as moving 50-lb bags of flour and boxes of varying sizes.
Requirements
- Prior cooking experience.
- Prior pizza experience preferred, but not required.
- Prior sub/pasta experience preferred, but not required.
- High School or equivalent diploma required.
- Must have current ServSafe certificate.
