About the position

The Gifts Administrator at Dallas Theological Seminary is responsible for managing and overseeing the processing of various charitable gifts and funds. This role serves as the primary contact for donors, ensuring the effective establishment and maintenance of Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) and other charitable contributions. The position plays a crucial role in supporting the institution's donor relations and scholarship management efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for donors establishing and maintaining Donor Advised Funds (DAFs).
  • Manage gift processing for Donor Advised Funds, Charitable Gift Annuities, Charitable Remainder Trusts, and scholarship gifts.
  • Process payments for Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Remainder Trusts.
  • Handle grant payments from Donor Advised Funds.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly reports on Foundation gifts.
  • Track and document pending and received Estate Gifts.
  • Oversee contribution deposits, including preparation, processing, and receipt acknowledgment.
  • Process disbursements from Donor Advised Funds.
  • Assist with annual audit preparation and respond to audit-related requests.
  • Manage incoming contributions to the Foundation, including scanning checks, acknowledging receipts, entering data into the accounting system, and preparing gift receipts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain best practices for legal documentation and filing of all donor and gift records for the Foundation.
  • Coordinate with the DTS Business Office to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of all gifts and transactions between the Business Office and the Foundation.
  • Collaborate with the Advancement Team to ensure proper receipting and reporting to donors.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to coordinate efforts among multiple stakeholders (donors, staff, and faculty).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least two years related experience preferred but not required.
  • Accounting and bookkeeping skills with understanding of basic bookkeeping preferred.
