The Geospatial Data and Multimedia Analyst supports the MGIS Unit in conducting research and integrating geospatial and tabular data related to economic development using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data visualization platforms. This role also includes supporting the multimedia needs of the corporation. The analyst will be responsible for producing static maps, supporting web-based mapping, managing spatial and non-spatial databases, and providing technical support to GIS staff. Additionally, the analyst will research, assess, integrate, manipulate, exploit, extract, and analyze digital data, integrating economic development data with GIS and guiding team members in these efforts. The position requires the analyst to analyze, evaluate, reformat, and convert geospatial data, assist in GIS project planning by developing project scopes, organizing tasks, estimating resources, and managing schedules. Participation in project deliverables production is essential, as is the development and support of client maintenance and relationship-building activities. The analyst will also customize product generation and analyze customer information, supporting project management teams across departments with both internal and external projects. Staying updated on geographic information trends and technologies is crucial, as is capturing and editing multimedia content for EDC events and projects, along with maintaining multimedia production equipment.
