About the position

The Geologist III position at Aerostar Environmental and Construction LLC (AEC) involves supporting environmental projects from inception to closeout. Responsibilities

• Serve as task lead for environmental activities and coordinate the efforts of support staff.
• Assist with the development of standard operating procedures and policies.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and external policies, including federal regulations.
• Interface with clients, regulators, property owners, and project stakeholders to ensure site access and work schedules are understood.
• Review and summarize analytical data, developing conclusions based on results.
• Provide field management on large-scale projects.
• Apply knowledge of CERCLA and RCRA to necessary projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, earth sciences, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
• Strong technical writing and oral communication skills for environmental consulting applications.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degree in engineering, geology, earth sciences, or a related field.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training and current 8-hour refresher.
• Other OSHA training (30-hour construction) is valued.
• Experience working on Department of Defense sites.
• Experience preparing draft work plans and reports.
• Experience with the operation of remediation systems and environmental sampling equipment.
• Professional licensure (PE or PG) or the ability to receive professional licensure within the first year or two of employment.
