About the position

The Generator Sales Representative at Clifford Power Systems Inc. is responsible for identifying and cultivating relationships with potential clients in need of high-capacity power generation solutions, focusing on the Generac Industrial brand. This role encompasses managing the entire sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business, while collaborating with internal teams to stay updated on product offerings and industry trends.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and target potential clients through market research and outreach strategies
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations
  • Understand customer requirements and provide tailored power solutions
  • Collaborate with Generac engineering and product teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date product knowledge
  • Negotiate pricing and terms of sales agreements to close effectively
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and industry events to network and market
  • Collaborate with Clifford service and project management team to resolve post-sale issues
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and progress in CRM system
  • Assist in onboarding of new sales team members as needed
  • Continuously improve product knowledge and sales techniques through ongoing training and professional development
  • Promote all Clifford Power sales channels

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of outside sales experience, preferably in the emergency power generation industry
  • Basic knowledge of diesel and natural gas engine generators or electrical knowledge is a strong plus
  • Proven track record of closing sales and obtaining new business
  • Strong relationship maintenance
  • Excellent customer follow-up
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Possess a strong sense of urgency and drive for success
  • Must work well in a team environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates/Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Electrical experience
