About the position

This position is responsible for various indoor and outdoor tasks in the cellar, including operating crush and press equipment, stacking barrels, and filling barrels with wine. The role requires adherence to safety practices and is supervised by the Cellarmanager, Winemaker, and Cellar Foreperson.

Responsibilities

• Following and observing all safe cellar practices.
• Perform equipment set-up duties.
• Cleaning, sanitizing, and sterilizing all winery equipment and facilities.
• Conducting wine and juice transfers, racking, blending, and moving hoses and equipment.
• Adding chemicals and nutrients to juice and wine.
• Understanding barrel operations: filling, racking, and topping.
• Operating a forklift to move barrels and case goods.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Cellarmanager.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a winery environment is preferred, but not required.
• Forklift experience is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to follow and communicate verbal and written safety and work instructions in English.
• Good reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills are required.
• Ability to work safely around equipment, electrical outlets, and procedures.
• Reliability and a good work ethic are essential.
• Flexibility to work any shift and overtime as needed, especially during harvest.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical exam and illegal drug screening.
