Responsibilities

• Perform roadway maintenance and repair tasks.
• Operate light and heavy construction equipment.
• Conduct preventive and minor maintenance on equipment.
• Manage traffic control during roadwork and emergencies.
• Assist the public during emergency situations.
• Inspect and maintain highways and rights-of-way.
• Erect and repair guard rails, highway markers, and signs.
• Maintain picnic and rest areas, including landscaping and litter removal.
• Complete routine servicing and minor repairs on equipment.
• Assist with inspecting maintenance contract construction methods.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license at the time of application.
• Must obtain a Commercial Class 'A' Driver's License with an 'N' Endorsement within 120 days of employment.
• No experience required for GTT I; 1 year for GTT II; 2 years for GTT III in relevant fields.
• Knowledge of methods, procedures, and materials used in transportation engineering and maintenance work.
