About the position

The General Manager is responsible for the overall management of the restaurant, ensuring it operates profitably and efficiently. This role involves directing food preparation, managing staff, overseeing financial reporting, and maintaining inventory control. The General Manager also implements operational systems and standards to achieve performance goals and enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall management responsibilities for the restaurant.
• Direct, coordinate, and participate in food preparation and assembly of food orders.
• Interview, hire, and train personnel while coordinating activities of co-workers.
• Plan, schedule, and manage financial reporting and inventory control.
• Complete and post weekly or monthly work schedules for all personnel.
• Supervise back-of-house and service operations during shifts.
• Assist team members during rush periods to maintain quality and service standards.
• Generate and review daily and weekly business reports for compliance and forecasting.
• Ensure all team members receive formal performance evaluations after 90 days and semi-annually thereafter.
• Coordinate cleaning and maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment.
• Resolve customer complaints to maintain satisfaction and compliance with standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in restaurant operations and management.
• Knowledge of staffing, training, and development processes.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in financial reporting and inventory management.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food service.
