About the position

As a General Manager at SONIC Drive-In, you will lead the restaurant team to deliver exceptional food service experiences while ensuring operational excellence. This role involves training staff, managing inventory, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, all while fostering a customer-centric environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall operations of the restaurant, including kitchen management, food safety, and compliance with health codes.
  • Supervise and train Assistant Managers and other staff members to ensure high-quality service.
  • Develop and manage budgets, including labor, inventory, and other expenses.
  • Conduct regular interviews with job applicants and make hiring decisions based on qualifications and fit for the role.
  • Implement effective strategies to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for customers.
  • Ensure all staff members are knowledgeable about food safety practices and adhere to them.
  • Manage inventory and ordering to minimize waste and maximize profits.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and handle customer complaints in a professional manner.
  • Utilize Micros POS to manage orders and monitor sales and inventory levels.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred).
  • Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing and selection practices.
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws as well as local health and sanitation laws and regulations.
  • Leadership and supervisory practices and skills; effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic accounting and computer skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy once given directions; ability to multi-task and successfully solve problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced studies in business, restaurant management or related fields are preferred.
  • Familiarity with Micros POS and experience with inventory management and ordering processes.
