About the position

The General Manager at KidStrong Knoxville is responsible for leading the center, fostering a culture of learning and development for both coaches and families. This role focuses on delivering exceptional experiences for children and their families while achieving key business results such as sales performance and member retention. The General Manager will develop and train the coaching team, build relationships with members, and oversee center operations, sales, and leadership initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the center's key KPIs and financials to make informed business decisions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with KidStrong families and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Oversee center-level initiatives including maintenance, training, and brand consistency.
  • Delegate center tasks to ensure consistent execution.
  • Manage center-level employee issues and documentation.
  • Set and communicate coach schedules using appropriate platforms.
  • Schedule, promote, and sell KidStrong events to maximize profitability.
  • Conduct call drives for lead management in the Center's CRM tool.
  • Responsible for sales and delegating responsibilities to the center staff team.
  • Source and attend local events to increase brand awareness and drive memberships.
  • Foster a coaching culture and assess Coaches based on the KidStrong Coach DNA profile.
  • Recruit, screen, interview, onboard, and evaluate coaching candidates.
  • Lead coaching candidates through the training process and required evaluations.
  • Manage and support the ongoing professional development of staff through LearnUpon.
  • Lead center staff meetings focused on development, productivity, and performance.
  • Coach students by delivering a curriculum focused on Brain, Physical, and Character development.

Requirements

  • An athletic and/or coaching background with experience working with kids ages 15 months - 11 years old.
  • Achieve Coach Certification through the HQ Training and Certification team.
  • Comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding various topics.
  • Previous experience in management is required.
  • Practical work experience with Google and Microsoft platforms.
  • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise techniques, and body mechanics.
  • CPR certified.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience as a pediatric OT/PT is a plus.
  • Previous experience with systems such as ZenPlanner, LearnUpon, CareerPlug, ADP, and FranConnect.
