About the position
The General Maintenance Outfitter is responsible for completing work order service requests to support store operations. This part-time role involves performing preventive maintenance, overseeing service contractors, and possessing broad skills in various building trades such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and mechanical work. The position also supports corporate facility maintenance, energy conservation, and waste management programs.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical repairs including lamp changing and light fixture installation.
- Conduct plumbing repairs such as pump and fixture installations, replacements, and drain cleaning.
- Maintain a basic understanding of commercial equipment operation and maintenance, particularly HVAC systems.
- Perform basic mechanical repairs on equipment like tractors, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
- Repair building structures through painting, wall repair, and minor carpentry.
- Conduct periodic building operation tune-ups to ensure energy conservation and waste management compliance.
- Maintain all necessary equipment for performing maintenance tasks.
- Complete preventative and reparative maintenance across various trades including electric, mechanics, hydraulics, carpentry, and masonry.
- Emphasize performance of a variety of maintenance tasks rather than specializing in any single trade.
Requirements
- High School education or 1-2 years of vocational training.
- High mechanical ability.
- Willingness to work with and oversee the work of others.
- Verifiable experience in maintenance-related work fields.
