About The Position

The General Maintenance Engineer II assists to ensure equipment, physical plant, and property are maintained properly so that equipment operates at optimum levels. This role involves completing work assignments and tasks in cooperation with other facility technicians in a team-oriented environment. The engineer will work with the Maintenance Planning department to evaluate needs for all work requests, both scheduled and unscheduled, as well as any special projects that arise. A key responsibility is following up on preventative maintenance for refrigeration units, plumbing, electrical systems, overhead doors, and any other mechanical systems. The role also includes assisting in repairs involving basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, and maintaining maintenance logs and completing necessary documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3-12 months of relevant experience and/or training. If no educational background, at least 1 year.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
• Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
• Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
• Experience in dealing with the public is preferred, such as retail cashier, food industry service, guest service with public contacts, etc.

Responsibilities

• Follows up on preventative maintenance on refrigeration units, plumbing, electrical, overhead doors, and any other mechanical systems.
• Assists in repairs involving basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
• Reviews and maintains maintenance logs, and completes any and all documentation necessary to the completion of a task.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
