Responsibilities
- Develop and teach an appealing and engrossing curriculum for high school students.
- Provide hands-on learning experiences in all the essential areas of the construction industry.
- Highly promote workplace safety, tool handling, and construction site best practices.
- Incorporate industry trends and technologies into lessons.
- Collaborate with local businesses, trade organizations, and apprenticeship programs to create career pathways for students.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom and workshop environment.
- Enable students to achieve industry skills certifications.
- Work with school administrators and fellow educators to align course objectives with career and technical education (CTE) goals.
Requirements
- At least 4,000 clock hours in the construction field to qualify for the Workplace Specialist Teaching License required.
- Workplace Specialist License required.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- OSHA 30 Certification required.
- NCCER Certification required.
