Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach an appealing and engrossing curriculum for high school students.
  • Provide hands-on learning experiences in all the essential areas of the construction industry.
  • Highly promote workplace safety, tool handling, and construction site best practices.
  • Incorporate industry trends and technologies into lessons.
  • Collaborate with local businesses, trade organizations, and apprenticeship programs to create career pathways for students.
  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom and workshop environment.
  • Enable students to achieve industry skills certifications.
  • Work with school administrators and fellow educators to align course objectives with career and technical education (CTE) goals.

Requirements

  • At least 4,000 clock hours in the construction field to qualify for the Workplace Specialist Teaching License required.
  • Workplace Specialist License required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
  • NCCER Certification required.
