About the position
We are looking for an experienced automotive technician. The role involves diagnosing and repairing automotive transmission systems to specifications, with knowledge of electrical and computer systems being a plus. The technician will explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, which may include other teammates and customers as required. Responsibilities also include removing and reinstalling transmission systems, assisting other technicians in performing technical activities, and continuously learning new technical information and techniques through informal training sessions to stay abreast with the rapidly changing automotive technology. The technician will keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur and maintain an organized service department.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair automotive transmission systems to specifications
- Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals
- Remove and reinstall transmission systems
- Assist other technicians in performing technical activities
- Continuously learn new technical information and techniques
- Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems
- Maintain an organized service department
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years' experience working as a General Technician
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Own professional grade tools
- Experience with mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience specific to transmission rebuilding
- Ability to communicate solutions to others
- ASE certifications a plus
- Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment
