The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various types of garage doors and openers. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Garage Door Technician will ensure that all work is performed safely and efficiently while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain garage doors and openers according to manufacturer specifications.
• Diagnose issues with garage door systems and provide effective solutions.
• Perform routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal functionality of garage door systems.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide recommendations for products and services.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working condition.
• Follow safety protocols at all times to minimize risks during installations and repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent on each job.

Requirements

• Proficiency in blueprint reading to interpret technical drawings for installations.
• Experience as a maintenance person with a broad skill set in home repairs.
• Knowledge of drywall installation techniques for seamless integration with garage door systems.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during installations and repairs.
• Experience in glass installation for garage doors that feature glass panels.
• Understanding of electrical systems related to garage door openers and safety features.
• Skills in door hanging techniques to ensure proper alignment and functionality.
• Familiarity with metal stud framing as it relates to structural support for installations.
• Competence in frame carpentry for custom installations or modifications.
• Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues effectively.
