About the position

The Furniture Repair Technician role is integral to the customer experience and the operations of the warehouse. Duties include evaluating damaged merchandise and daily repairs of stock items, damaged product, and customer owned goods. They also will need to be adept at using a variety of hand and electrical tools as well as various paints, dyes, and chemicals. Experience in furniture repair, furniture assembly, upholstery, or other related training will be beneficial in this role. The right candidate will be committed to and exemplify the values of the organization, maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced retail/warehouse environment. An extreme attention to detail and quality of work is crucial in this role. This position will be primarily to fill the vacancy in the evening shift. The regular schedule for this position will be 1:30pm-10pm with the initial training period to be during the day shift. Depending on business needs, shifts may vary and change. Starting pay at $17/hr. We offer competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and weekly pay to all of our Team Members.

Responsibilities

  • Reconstruct furniture, replace parts, and in some cases modify or rebuild missing parts.
  • Inspects items according to instructions and reports damaged goods to supervisor.
  • Comprehend all methods of repair for wood, upholstery, glass and assembly of RTA.
  • Performs routine maintenance procedures as instructed.
  • Maintain repair log and notify manager if item cannot be repaired.
  • Maintain work area - be sure all chemicals are labeled, place all dirty rags in proper containers, be familiar with hazard communication and MSDS.
  • Follows all safety rules
