Ventus Executive Solutions is seeking a skilled Functional Analyst to support an innovative program. You will bring deep expertise in experimental physics and quantum systems, enabling evaluation of emerging R&D efforts and advising on technical direction across a diverse portfolio spanning optics and electronics. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Physics (Applied Physics or related discipline), or Master’s with significant hands-on experimental experience.
  • Strong background in experimental physics and optics.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing scientific research and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to conduct literature reviews and synthesize complex technical data.
  • Experience supporting or interacting with R&D programs or research environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) Physics.
  • Expertise in synthetic quantum emitters (quantum dots, color centers).
  • Expertise in microwave superconducting qubits and circuits.
  • Experience with DoD or similar advanced research programs.
  • Experience with first-principles analysis and/or theoretical physics.
  • Experience with technical risk assessment and program evaluation.
  • Experience with engagement with research performers, industry, or academia.
  • TS/SCI clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate emerging R&D efforts.
