About the position

We are a growing company operating self-storage facilities in the Midwest, New York, and Pennsylvania. We are seeking a reliable person to fill a full-time self-storage sales associate position at our Rochester, NY facility. This position requires availability on weekdays and at least every other Saturday. We also need someone that is very handy to help with general maintenance and small repairs around the facility. Our company puts a big emphasis on supporting our team and creating a positive work environment. Our offices are all closed by 6pm, so there are no night hours! We have also added lots of online features for our customers to promote more contactless service. In this role, you will be helping customers with all their storage needs, following up on sales leads and inquiries, processing payments, managing delinquencies, and keeping the facility in the best shape through light maintenance and frequent property walks. This position offers a great mix of desk and non-desk functions, making it dynamic and engaging. As a Self-Storage Sales Associate, you will be expected to demonstrate a customer care focus even when communicating in writing and over the phone. You will need to exhibit a professional, positive, team-oriented attitude and have a willingness to learn and apply new or revised processes and procedures effectively. Your computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, will be essential for writing routine reports and correspondence, as well as presenting information to groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Excellent organizational skills are a must, along with the ability to multi-task in a customer-focused environment and work well under pressure.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience in sales, retail management, and/or customer service
  • Ability to work well with people
  • Demonstrated customer care focus
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply new processes and procedures
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules, policy manuals, and maintenance instructions
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to perform basic math operations
  • Ability to multi-task in a customer-focused environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure
