Full-Time RN Nights (7p-7a) - Emergency Department - 15K Sign-on

About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at KHI is designed to provide nursing care to patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations. The RN will work under the direction of a physician and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act, utilizing the nursing process to assess patients' health needs, implement nursing interventions, and evaluate patient responses. The role emphasizes providing excellent patient care with compassion and teamwork, and includes responsibilities such as assisting with the orientation of new staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based care to prevent Healthcare Acquired Conditions and hospital readmissions.
• Practice standard precautions during patient contact and while handling contaminated materials.
• Collect patient health data and complete nursing assessments according to hospital policies.
• Analyze assessment data to identify patient care needs and formulate care plans.
• Implement nursing care based on identified nursing diagnoses and patient care standards.
• Evaluate patient progress towards desired outcomes and revise care plans as necessary.
• Coordinate nursing personnel and patient care quality.
• Ensure compliance with nursing processes and standards.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate of a Nursing Diploma program.
• Current, valid Arizona RN license or compact state RN license.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS and PALS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Emergency Severity Index (ESI) training required within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC required within 24 months of hire.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Experience working in the emergency department or respective clinical area.
• One year of Acute Med/Surg nursing experience.
• CCRN or CEN certification encouraged.
