About the position

The Meat Manager is responsible for ordering, managing cutting operations, and ensuring gross profit within the Meat Department. This role includes writing work schedules, cutting and wrapping meat, unloading trucks, and performing all tasks associated with meat cutting. A positive performance record within the company is required, along with good judgment, as direct supervision may not always be available.

Responsibilities

• Determining quantity and quality of product needed
• Ordering and receiving inventory
• Managing employees
• Properly dating and rotating sales products
• Determining proper cutting procedures
• Knowing cleaning and sanitizing procedures
• Presenting products in case
• Operating powered machinery
• Using hand tools
• Enforcing company policies

Requirements

• Positive performance record within the company in the Meat Department
• Journeyman Meat Cutter license or certificate
