About the position
Following a written plan of care by a registered nurse, you’ll provide personal care, household support, and companion care (homemaker) services to help adults stay safe and independent at home. As Assisting Hands CHHA, or Live-in you’ll have the opportunity to develop close relationships with your clients while you help them with activities of daily living, household support, meal preparation, and more.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment within client’s residence.
- Performing all personal care activities contained in a written Plan of Care.
- Providing nutritional support as needed.
- Reporting changes in the client’s condition.
- Assisting with the use of devices for aid to daily living such as a wheelchair, walker, or hoyer lift.
- Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises.
- Teaching household routine and skills to well members of the family.
- Measuring intake and output of fluids.
- Measuring and recording temperature, pulse, respiration or blood pressure.
- Keeping records of personal health care activities.
- Observing appearance and gross behavioral changes in the client and reporting to the agency supervisor.
- Assisting the client with the self-administration of medication.
- Abiding by the agency’s infection control policies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- One (1) year experience in the home or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Current HHA - Home Health Aide license listed in good standing with the board.
