Full-Time Lecturer Faculty Position (non-tenure track) - Department of Forestry, Fire, and Rangeland Management

About the position

Instructional faculty members in temporary positions are responsible for teaching, maintaining office hours, and working collaboratively and productively with colleagues. Instructional assignments may include courses such as Fire Behavior and Effects, Applied Fire Use and Policy, Humans and Fire, Fuels Management, Forest Ecology, Restoration Ecology, and Dendrology. These assignments will align with the programmatic needs of the department and students. Responsibilities

• Teaching courses in Fire, Forestry, or related fields.
• Maintaining office hours for student support.
• Collaborating with colleagues in a productive manner.
• Developing curriculum and courses that inclusively serve a diverse student population.

Requirements

• An earned B.S. or equivalent in Fire, Forestry, or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Five (5) years or more of professional experience in fire or forest management.
• Record of training or experience in Fire and Forest Science or Management.
• Excellence in, or clear potential for, field-based university-level instruction.
• Demonstrated experience working effectively with diverse student and/or research populations.
• Knowledge of issues facing students from diverse backgrounds in higher education.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Fire, Forestry, or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Documented experience teaching Fire, Forestry, or related fields.
• Demonstrated teaching excellence shown through course evaluations.
