About the position

The Keyholder at the Women's Center of East Texas is responsible for ensuring excellent customer and donor care while maintaining a safe and clean sales environment. This role involves coordinating with the store manager and assistant manager for store operations, including opening and closing procedures, while also fulfilling primary duties related to customer service and store management.

Responsibilities

• Promote friendly and helpful customer service and donor care.
• Maintain store operations when manager and assistant manager are off duty.
• Operate the cash register and point of sale system, answer the telephone, process client gift certificates, process refunds, and manage cash register operations.
• Stock shelves and racks with processed merchandise.
• Maintain accurate records of donations and issue completed donation receipts to all donors.
• Assist with loading and unloading merchandise and equipment as needed.
• Demonstrate professionalism and present a friendly, cooperative attitude towards customers and co-workers.
• Multitask, make quick decisions, and work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
• Conduct work in a safe manner and maintain good housekeeping standards.
• Follow all policies and procedures as instructed by the Manager.

Requirements

• Ability to respond to telephones, written correspondence, and other auditory and visual stimulation.
• Ability to remain calm under stress and have the emotional and physical stamina to deal with stressful situations.
• Frequent sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, and walking.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry items up to 40 pounds.
• Occasional climbing of stairs or inclined surfaces.
• Occasional outdoor work during night hours and/or inclement weather.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in retail sales or customer service roles.
• Knowledge of cash register and point of sale systems.
