About the position
Join our team at Target as a Warehouse Operations team member, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of products within our supply chain. In this position, you will be responsible for following all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. You will attend safety trainings to learn how to operate effectively in a fast-paced warehouse setting. Your primary duties will include packing, loading, and shipping items to our stores and guests, ensuring that merchandise is processed accurately and efficiently. You will work diligently to handle freight and move inventory throughout the warehouse while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. As a Warehouse Operations team member, you will be expected to report to work on time and complete assigned tasks accurately and promptly. You will engage in problem-solving activities to support continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse. A positive and respectful attitude is essential, as you will be working both independently and as part of a team. Please note that job duties may change at any time based on business needs, and you will be considered for either the Warehouse Worker or Warehouse Associate role based on your responses to the application questionnaire and assessment. The job requires physical stamina, as you will frequently lift and carry merchandise weighing between 35-50 lbs and occasionally up to 60 lbs. You will be required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during your shifts. Basic math skills are necessary for accurately counting and processing merchandise, and you must be able to read labels and product documentation. Additionally, you will need to operate computer systems or handheld devices with minimal direction after receiving training. Good written and oral communication skills are essential, and proficiency in English is required to follow safety policies and instructions.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Attend safety trainings to learn how to work safely in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Pack, load, and ship items to stores and guests.
- Ensure accurate processing of merchandise to our stores and guests.
- Work safely, quickly, and efficiently to handle freight and move inventory throughout the warehouse.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
- Report to work on time and complete job tasks as assigned accurately and on time.
- Engage in problem solving to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment.
Requirements
- Able to lift and carry merchandise weighing 35-50 lbs frequently throughout a shift.
- Able to lift and carry merchandise weighing up to 60 lbs occasionally throughout a shift.
- Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts.
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment.
- Able to accurately use basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
- Able to accurately read labels, tickets, and other product documentation.
- Able to operate computer systems or handheld devices with minimal direction after receiving training.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to understand, speak, and read English with sufficient proficiency to follow safety and other policies, trainings, and instructions.
Nice-to-haves
- Able to be trained on and operate all powered equipment safely (including but not limited to Pallet Rider, Scissor Lift, Sit Down & Standup Forklift).
- Able to work at heights of up to 40ft where applicable.
- Able to work in various temperature-controlled environments including refrigerator and freezer for majority of shift.
