About the position
Join our team as a Warehouse Worker or Warehouse Associate at Target, where you will play a crucial role in our Supply Chain and Logistics operations. As a member of our warehouse team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of merchandise, which includes packing, loading, and shipping items to our stores and guests. You will be expected to follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your fellow team members. This role requires you to attend safety trainings to learn how to work safely in a fast-paced warehouse environment, ensuring that you are well-prepared to handle the demands of the job. In this position, you will engage in various tasks that require physical stamina and attention to detail. You will be responsible for accurately processing merchandise, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and reporting to work on time to complete job tasks as assigned. Problem-solving skills will be essential as you work towards continuous improvement in our operations. A positive and respectful attitude is crucial, as you will be working both independently and as part of a team. The job duties may change based on business needs, and you will be considered for either the Warehouse Worker or Warehouse Associate role based on your responses to the application questionnaire and assessment. The requirements for both roles include the ability to lift and carry merchandise weighing between 35-50 lbs frequently and up to 60 lbs occasionally, as well as standing, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching during shifts. You will also need to possess basic math skills, good communication abilities, and proficiency in English to follow safety policies and instructions effectively.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Attend safety trainings to learn how to work safely in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Pack, load, and ship items to stores and guests.
- Ensure accurate processing of merchandise to our stores and guests.
- Work safely, quickly and efficiently to handle freight and move inventory throughout the warehouse.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
- Report to work on time and complete job tasks as assigned accurately and on time.
- Engage in problem solving to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment.
Requirements
- Able to lift and carry merchandise weighing 35-50 lbs frequently throughout a shift.
- Able to lift and carry merchandise weighing up to 60 lbs occasionally throughout a shift.
- Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts.
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment.
- Able to accurately use basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
- Able to accurately read labels, tickets, and other product documentation.
- Able to operate computer systems or handheld devices with minimal direction after receiving training.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to understand, speak, and read English with sufficient proficiency to follow safety and other policies, trainings, and instructions.
Nice-to-haves
- Able to be trained on and operate all powered equipment safely (including but not limited to Pallet Rider, Scissor Lift, Sit Down & Standup Forklift), and work at heights of up to 40ft where applicable.
- Able to work in various temperature-controlled environments including refrigerator and freezer for majority of shift.
