About the position

The Full-Time Faculty position at the American University of Bahrain involves teaching a variety of courses in Finance, Management, Marketing, Management Information Systems, and Accounting. The faculty member will contribute to curriculum development, engage in research and academic writing, advise students, and participate in faculty governance and administrative duties, all while supporting the academic mission of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses and prepare course syllabus, plan lessons and assignments.
  • Assess students' progress by grading assignments, papers, exams, and other work.
  • Advise students about which classes to take and how to achieve their goals.
  • Work with colleagues to develop or modify the curriculum for a degree or certificate program.
  • Stay informed about changes and innovations in their field.
  • Invigilate examinations.
  • Attend faculty meetings and participate in general administration related to teaching and assessments' quality assurance.
  • Conduct course internal moderation.
  • Actively participate in academic standing and ad-hoc committees.
  • Engage in college and university vibrant life.
  • Write research proposals, papers, and other publications.
  • Supervise projects/thesis for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably required by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a PhD in a related field from a recognized institution for faculty teaching undergraduate programs.
  • PhD degree in a related field from a recognized institution for faculty teaching postgraduate programs.
  • Experience teaching programs at the undergraduate level for Master's holders and at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels for PhD holders.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in teaching and developing a higher education program or comparable experience in industry.
  • Minimum ranking of Assistant Professor or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge and experience of using LMS (Learning Management System).
