About The Position

The Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, compliance, and operational oversight of Foreign-Trade Zone activities. This role ensures full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, FTZ Board requirements, and company SOPs while supporting efficient warehouse, inventory, and trade operations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in FTZ operations, customs compliance, or international logistics
  • Strong working knowledge of FTZ regulations (19 CFR 146)
  • Strong working knowledge of CBP procedures
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory control systems
  • Experience working with ACE
  • Experience working with customs brokers
  • Experience working with CBP audits
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • FTZ Operator or User experience
  • Experience in warehousing, transportation, or 3PL environments
  • Familiarity with WMS/ERP platforms

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with 19 CFR Part 146, FTZ Board regulations, and CBP requirements
  • Maintain accurate FTZ records, including: Admissions (CBP Form 214), Weekly Estimates, Zone Status Changes, Transfers, Manipulations & Manufacturing authorizations
  • Coordinate and prepare documentation for CBP audits, annual reconciliations, and compliance reviews
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the company, CBP Port Director, FTZ Grantee, and customs brokers
  • Monitor FTZ inventory accuracy between WMS, ERP, and ACE systems
  • Ensure proper inventory classification: Privileged Foreign (PF), Non-Privileged Foreign (NPF), Domestic (D), Zone-Restricted (ZR)
  • Conduct and support: Cycle counts, Labeling of all cargo, Daily aisle audits, Annual physical inventories, Inventory discrepancy investigations and corrective actions
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and records retention per CBP standards
  • Work closely with warehouse, transportation, and customer service teams to support FTZ receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping processes
  • Coordinate FTZ admissions, transfers, and withdrawals for: Consumption, Export, Destruction
  • Ensure FTZ procedures are integrated into daily warehouse workflows without disrupting productivity
  • Prepare and submit required FTZ reports, including: Weekly Entry (CBP Form 3461/7501 equivalent via ACE), Annual Reconciliation, FTZ Annual Report
  • Maintain FTZ data within: WMS, ERP systems, ACE Portal
  • Identify and escalate compliance risks, discrepancies, or system errors
  • Develop, maintain, and update FTZ SOPs, work instructions, and compliance manuals
  • Train warehouse, operations, and administrative staff on FTZ procedures and compliance requirements
  • Support internal audits and corrective action plans (CAPA)
