(FT) Housekeeping Associate

About the position

The Full Time Housekeeping Associate is responsible for maintaining the store's cleanliness and appearance in accordance with Department of Health standards and the goals set by the facilities manager. This position requires working full-time, 40 hours per week, with closing shifts and weekend nights required.

Responsibilities

• Proactively greet customers and follow the 10/4 Rule.
• Answer customer questions and/or complaints completely and courteously, or take the questioner to the appropriate person who will provide the answer.
• Provide a welcoming atmosphere for member workers.
• Empty waste receptacles for customer use throughout and outside of the building.
• Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of floors throughout the building.
• Answer service calls or spill calls when paged in a timely manner.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness and sanitary condition of all restrooms.
• Actively manage trash, recyclables, and compost collection areas.
• Monitor waste removal from office spaces beginning at 4:00 PM.
• Monitor and manage laundry area.
• Clean windows throughout the store as per department procedures.
• Check all floor mats throughout the store for safety and cleanliness.
• Vacuum all carpeted offices, conference rooms, and practitioners' room.
• Wipe down freezer and dairy cooler doors.
• Maintain mop sink, mops, and broom heads in clean and orderly condition.
• Assist in scheduled cleaning and dusting of cooler tops, light fixtures, and overhead signs throughout the store.
• Complete assigned project/interval cleaning such as deep cleaning of specific areas.
• Use auto scrubber to clean the store's floors.
• Use burnisher to polish floors.
• Use slow speed floor machine to scrub floors when needed.
• Monitor, maintain, and clean all outdoor areas including the general grounds, dumpster, and bailer areas.
• Assist with removal of snow from store's sidewalks.
• Perform lawn care and grounds maintenance.
• Clean bulk herb/spice counter and organize supplies.
• Wipe tables with sanitizing solution in the cafe.
• Sweep and mop floors in the cafe as needed.
• Notify kitchen steward of supply shortages.
• Vacuum and roll up mats and set aside for floor cleaner.

Requirements

• Professional cleaning experience preferred.
• Demonstrated reliability in attendance and timeliness.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently when necessary.
• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. safely and consistently.
• Ability to project a friendly, helpful presence to customers while maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Ability to follow written and oral directions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Organized, with attention to details.
• Flexibility in scheduling, including willingness to exchange shifts with co-workers.

Benefits

• $16.50/hour starting rate.
• Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
