About the position
Saia is seeking dockworkers to join their team in Oklahoma City. The role involves efficiently sorting, handling, and loading freight into and unloading it from various transportation equipment. Dockworkers will utilize sit-down forklifts and may also perform hostler duties by moving trailers within the yard. This position offers full-time opportunities with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight on trailers using a forklift, pallet jack, or manually in compliance with state and federal DOT guidelines.
- Read and interpret shipping labels.
- Hand load, rewrap, or stack freight as necessary.
- Secure freight inside the trailer using the provided and appropriate dunnage.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Freight handling experience.
- Forklift certification.
- Hazmat training.
- Previous freight dock or warehouse experience is helpful.
