  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards and practical experience building WCAG 2.2-compliant user interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of Azure-hosted front ends, Azure App Service, and enterprise cloud environments.
  • Skilled in modern development tools and practices, including unit testing, functional testing, component testing, automated regression testing, and code review.

  • Analytical mindset and innovative thinking to devise effective and efficient solutions to challenges, including decision-making.
  • Ability to translate technical specifications into business benefits and help cross-functional teams understand how front-end architecture drives value for the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in regulated industries such as financial services, pension, healthcare, insurance, or other high-trust digital environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop cross-platform web and mobile user interfaces using React latest stable version and TypeScript from a single shared codebase.
  • Build and maintain reusable UI components aligned to the new HOOPP.com, Member portal shared design system, including component variants, design tokens, accessibility patterns, and responsive layouts.
  • Support reuse across public HOOPP.com and authenticated member experiences, reducing duplication and helping evolve a common front-end experience layer.
  • Integrate Contentful headless CMS content into page templates, component layouts, and CMS-configured page compositions, while supporting hard-coded widgets where required.
  • Implement utility-first styling using NativeWind and Tailwind-style patterns, adhering to centralized design tokens for colour, typography, spacing, theming, and layout consistency.
  • Consume services through the DISP Orchestration API / Backend-for-Frontend pattern, ensuring clean separation between the front-end experience layer and backend orchestration services.
  • Support localization and internationalization using react-native-i18next, including bilingual English/French content and component patterns.
  • Contribute code to the PAD-Member-Experience-Layer repository in Azure DevOps, participating in pull requests, code reviews, branching, CI/CD, and defect resolution.
  • Support front-end applications hosted on Azure App Service within enterprise network and security patterns, including DMZ App Service Environment working practices.
  • Resolve complex front-end production issues across multiple experiences, APIs, content sources, and delivery teams.
  • Actively participate in Agile Scrum practices, including daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Architecture, QA, vendors and HOOPP technology teams on iterative delivery.
  • Partner with UX/UI designers to translate designs, content models, and design-system guidance into production-ready, accessible components.
  • Contribute during brainstorming and planning meetings, write wiki documentation, and support continuous improvement across front-end engineering practices.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and participatory environment that promotes mutual respect, thoughtful challenge, and shared ownership.
  • Ask powerful questions, create awareness, and help individuals and groups explore practical options and decisions.
  • Assist in delivering new HOOPP.com and Member portal features, CMS-driven pages, reusable components, and defect resolutions across public and authenticated digital experiences.
  • Build, launch, and support significant front-end features, including planning, resolving dependencies with other teams, educating peers and stakeholders, and mitigating potential issues.
  • Implement and support automated functional, component, accessibility, and regression tests for new and changed features.
  • Help maintain front-end quality through peer reviews, reusable patterns, strong typing, clear documentation, and pragmatic engineering standards.
  • Quickly learn, evaluate, and apply new concepts and technologies in support of the HOOPP.com, member portal front-end roadmap.
  • Support the transition toward a scalable, CMS-driven, design-system-led front-end delivery model that improves velocity without sacrificing stability, accessibility, privacy, security, or compliance.
