About the position

The Front Desk Receptionist plays a crucial role in client service and communication at the veterinary hospital. This position is responsible for creating positive first and lasting impressions, managing client interactions, and ensuring smooth operations at the front desk. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional customer service skills, computer literacy, and the ability to handle financial transactions while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Maintain accurate clerical work and medical records.
  • Promote hospital products and services to clients.
  • Support team members in daily operations.
  • Handle payment transactions, including cash and credit card processing.
  • Balance cash drawer at the end of the day/shift and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Update client reminders and maintain an organized reception area.
  • Ensure new clients complete necessary paperwork correctly.
  • Lift pets and carry equipment up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and endure extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in customer service is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Understanding of veterinary terminology is a plus.
  • Exceptional customer service skills are necessary.
