About the position

The Front Desk & Administrative Coordinator at the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce plays a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming experience for members and community partners. This position involves multitasking and supporting the administrative flow of events while embodying the Chamber's core values of community, creativity, and respect. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and passionate about community service, contributing to the Chamber's mission of building a vibrant local economy.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and direct visitors to the Chamber, the HUB, and other building partners.
  • Distribute incoming mail, accept packages, and manage building supplies.
  • Answer and forward phone calls and emails, providing helpful information.
  • Oversee the conference room calendar and update the phone message as needed.
  • Handle accounts receivable, assist with bank deposits, and manage communications related to building maintenance.
  • Support the Chamber team on various projects, thank-you mailings, and event needs.
  • Process member invoices, building usage billing, and maintain accurate records in the Chamber Management system.
  • Welcome and onboard new members, assist with renewals, and ensure timely responses to inquiries.
  • Manage event applications, payments, and updates for signature events.
  • Attend event planning meetings, provide onsite support, and help coordinate prizes and sponsors.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Experience in administrative support or customer service roles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Chamber Management systems or similar software.
  • Experience in event planning or coordination.
