About the position

The Kennel Supervisor at our dog daycare and boarding facility is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kennel, managing staff, and ensuring the well-being of the dogs in our care. This role requires a strong background in dog daycare and boarding, as well as the ability to train and supervise other kennel attendants. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal care and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Care for dogs and ensure their well-being.
• Manage and handle shifts, assigning activities to the team and running the shift smoothly.
• Use software to add and update records of dogs and bill customers.
• Understand animal behavior patterns and body language.
• Escort animals throughout the facility and clean up as needed.
• Clean the pens and boarding areas as required.
• Groom and give baths to the pups if required.
• Feed and administer medications as needed.
• Provide customer service via telephone, email, and in person.
• Handle canine guest check-in and check-out in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage staff and oversee operations of the shift.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kennel is a must.
• 2 years of experience in dog daycare or a related field.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Computer literacy and ability to use POS systems.
• Leadership skills to manage and train staff.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to handle multiple dogs of all sizes on leash or off leash.
• Adherence to high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Reliable transportation.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in retail sales is preferred.
• Veterinary experience is a plus.
